ANAHEIM HILLS, CA. May 26, 2004 – BullDog Products® announces the introduction of its new canvas for solvent based printing machines. This product is the first canvas emulsion formulated for the new Roland, Mimaki and Mutoh wide format printers. Orange Dot canvas allows these solvent and eco/solvent machines to reproduce the color palette of many original works of art as Giclée prints.
Historically, original oil and acrylic paintings have always held the textual richness of woven canvas. Traditional Giclée printing machines, such as Iris, Roland and more recently Epson, require a relatively smooth surfaced canvas. The introduction of solvent printing machines, such as the Mutoh and Mimaki, allow for the look and feel of the canvas used in original paintings.
Barbara Galang, President of Harvest Productions, says, “The combination of bulk ink delivery to our Mimaki JV3 printer on this canvas allows Harvest Productions to produce a new, more economical product line.” This new canvas, labeled ORANGE DOT, has just been released from beta testing. It has a high white point, consistent surface and is very resistant to cracking. The durability of Orange Dot canvas, when used in conjunction with BullDog inks, is in excess of 200 years.
Orange Dot canvas is currently available in rolls of 54” and 62”. The canvas requires no post-coating, but can be coated with BullDog Ultra Coating to achieve a glossy finish.
Orange Dot canvas completes BullDog Products® canvas offerings for all major Giclée printing technologies. For more information regarding Bulldog Orange Dot Canvas or other BullDog canvases please refer to their respective links.
